Mara Morner-Ritt has over 20 years of experience practicing in the area of general corporate law and has handled a wide variety of business transactions. She has represented lenders and borrowers in debt transactions and investors and offerors in private equity transactions, other capital formation transactions and in mergers and acquisitions. She has also represented both executives and companies in negotiating employment contracts and in structuring compensation arrangements. In addition, she has represented start-up companies in formation and financing. While much of her experience comes in the area of media and entertainment companies and transactions, she has also represented clients in many other industries.
Ms. Morner-Ritt received her J.D. in 1987 from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. While at Boalt Hall, she served as associate editor of the California Law Review. Prior to law school, Ms. Morner-Ritt graduated magna cum laude with honors from the University of Southern California with a B.A. degree in 1983.
Ms. Morner-Ritt began her career practicing law in 1988 with OMelveny & Myers in what was then known as the Corporate Departments Banking Group in the Los Angeles office. In 1990, Ms. Morner-Ritt moved to Gipson Hoffman & Pancione in Century City, where she became a shareholder in 1994. At Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, Ms. Morner-Ritt worked with the Corporate and Finance Transactions group. In 2000, Ms. Morner-Ritt opened her own firm, which is now known as Brandon & Morner-Ritt.
Ms. Morner-Ritt is active in the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and currently serves as an officer of the Business and Corporations Law Section Executive Committee.
Jack Brandon has over 25 years of experience practicing in the area of domestic and international taxation.
In 1983, Mr. Brandon received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and his MBA from the UCLA Andersen School of Business. Prior to law school, Mr. Brandon graduated cum laude from Lewis and Clark College in 1976.
Mr. Brandon began practicing law with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. From there, Mr. Brandon moved to Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, where he became a shareholder. In 2000, Mr. Brandon opened his own firm, which is now known as Brandon & Morner-Ritt.
